Welcome to the Saugahatchee
District website. We represent the scouts of Lee County in
East Alabama. The District is part of the
Chattahoochee Council of the Boy Scouts of
America.
Wood Badge registration is open

Wood Badge
registration is now open for the spring
2012 course. Wood Badge for the 21st Century is
the advanced leadership training program for all
BSA leaders at the unit, district, and council
levels. The course is designed to train all
scouting adults to use the latest leadership
skills in your scouting adventure. Techniques
and skills are also applicable in your
workplace. The course is held at Camp Lumpkin
(FGL) over two weekends. Course dates are March
2-4 and April 13-15. Participation is limited to
the first 48 paid participants. Further

Wood Badge Reunion is Jan. 7
You are cordially invited to attend the 23rd
Annual Chattahoochee Council Wood Badge Reunion.
Please join us for an evening of food, fun, and
camaraderie to be held at the Callaway Dining
Hall, Camp Lumpkin Chattahoochee Council Scout
Reservation, on January 7, 2012. Gathering is at
6:00 PM, and dinner will be served at 6:30 PM.
This event is open to all Scouters and their
families, and is not limited to recipients of
the Wood Badge Training Award. Cost of the
Reunion is $20.00 per person.
Reservations are required, and are due at the
Council Service Center by close of business,
Wednesday, January 4, 2011.
We are planning an exciting evening that will
include fellowship, tale-sharing, and an
excellent dinner prepared by the SR-1078
Quartermaster staff. There will be a guest
speaker, a few presentations of Wood Badge Bead
Awards, and a presentation ceremony for the
Gilwell Award.
We hope to see all new and old Scouters at the
23rd annual event.

The District Advancement Committee has created
a special Eagle Advancement page with the
checklist, forms, workbooks and other materials
needed for gaining Eagle service project
approval and applying for the rank. The process
is much different from other ranks. Please check
the Advancement
page for links to these materials.
Pinewood Derby Workshop
Joe Grega, department manager
in Tools at Opelika's Lowe ,will be conducting
Pinewood derby clinics on January 7th, 21st and
February 4th and 18th at 11:00 am.
