The Saugahatchee District Pinewood Derby was held February 26, 2011 at the Auburn United Methodist Church Annex. Pack 29 provided their track and race materials for the district races. Members of the National Scouting Fraternity Alpha Phi Omega provided the manpower needed to run the race. Almost fifty cub scouts competed in various races at the Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I and Webelos II levels. Awards were given for first, second and third places and for best design at each level. The top three winners in each level went on to compete in a championship race at the end of the event. The top three winners of the championship race for 2011 were:

First Place: Trey Stanford - Pack 29
Second Place: Brendan Brackett - Pack 13
Third Place: Conrad Saucer - Pack 29

    An open class race was also run for parents, siblings, and scouts to test their cars in an unrestricted race. The Council Pinewood Derby Race is set for Saturday, May 14 at the Scout Expo in Columbus, Georgia. Any Cub Scout with a regulation car may participate in the council race.
