Eagle
Scout Advancement
The trail to Eagle is an
experience that combines hard work, perseverance, and
initiative. The Eagle rank is never given to a scout. He must
earn it. This in turn, marks an Eagle Scout as a person who
is responsible and willing to go the extra mile. Eagle Scouts
have occupied the highest reaches of government, industry,
finance, and two have even walked on the surface of the Moon.
To assist you in reaching these heights, the Saugahatchee
District provides here the forms, worksheets and the checklist
needed to complete your Eagle Scout service project and apply
for the rank. Because the Eagle rank is such an important step,
the process for advancing is different from previous ranks.
In addition to the approval of your Scoutmaster and Troop
Committee, your service project must be approved at the District
level by the Eagle Scout Advancement Chairman. Your merit badges are
double-checked at the Council level and your board of review is
conducted by members of the District Eagle Scout Advancement
Committee. Ultimately, your application must be approved by the
BSA National Office before you are awarded the rank.
Follow the checklist closely. If you have any questions, please
contact the Saugahatchee District Eagle Scout Advancement Chairman
whose contact information appears below.
