Saugahatchee District Pine Wood Derby Winners for 2011 

 

 

 


   


 

 

Welcome to the Saugahatchee District website. We represent the scouts of Lee County in East Alabama. The District is part of the Chattahoochee Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
            

Wood Badge registration is open

Wood Badge registration is now open for the spring 2012 course. Wood Badge for the 21st Century is the advanced leadership training program for all BSA leaders at the unit, district, and council levels. The course is designed to train all scouting adults to use the latest leadership skills in your scouting adventure. Techniques and skills are also applicable in your workplace. The course is held at Camp Lumpkin (FGL) over two weekends. Course dates are March 2-4 and April 13-15. Participation is limited to the first 48 paid participants. District Award of Merit

 

You are invited to submit a nomination for the District Award of Merit.  The nomination form can be found at District Award of Merit form

 

The award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level. See the nomination form for additional requirements.

 

The deadline for submitting nominations this year is 5:00PM on Monday, February 13th.  You can email your nominations to the District Award of Merit Committee Chairman, Bob Edwards, bobandcissy@aol.com or you can mail the nomination to:

The committee must have all nomination
forms in hand by 5pm on Feb 13 for the
nomination to be considered. Please take a
minute and nominate a deserving volunteer for
this recognition.


Prospective Eagle Scouts

The District Advancement Committee has created a special Eagle Advancement page with the checklist, forms, workbooks and other materials needed for gaining Eagle service project approval and applying for the rank. The process is much different from other ranks. Please check the Advancement page for links to these materials. 


Pinewood Derby Workshop

Joe Grega, department manager in Tools at Opelika's Lowe ,will be conducting Pinewood derby clinics on January 7th, 21st and February 4th and 18th at 11:00 am.
